KAMAE

KAMAE is a compact turn-based roguelike built around positioning, facing, and parrying.

Every enemy is dangerous. Every attack matters. You move, turn, wait, and strike while reading enemy positions and deciding when to commit.

With your guard ready, facing an incoming attack lets you automatically parry and counterattack. As you climb, new abilities and temporary licenses change how you move, attack, and take risks.

KAMAE is designed around short runs, simple controls, and tactical decisions that become more demanding the further you go.

Currently Playable

• 30-floor mode: climb to the top, with retries on the current floor.
• Endless mode: unlocked by clearing 30 floors. One life, no retries.
• Tutorial and Trial Mode: learn the rules and experiment with abilities and builds.
• 25 abilities: including 13 unlocked with earned coins. Shape your build through three-choice rewards, shops, and temporary licenses.
• Seven enemy types plus elites: navigate destructible obstacles, explosions, and fire—and turn enemy attacks against each other.
• Score chasing: earn higher scores through efficient clears and kill chains.

Mouse and keyboard controls. English interface. CRT visuals, sound effects, and a looping soundtrack. Available for Windows 64-bit.

Scores, coins, and unlocks are saved between sessions. An unfinished run cannot currently be resumed after closing the game.

Early Access

Updates are not expected in the near term, and there is currently no fixed update schedule. Please base your purchase decision on the features and content available in the current version.

This version is still in development. Balance, abilities, presentation, and additional systems may change based on testing and player feedback.
